It is our pleasure and honour to host the following speakers for the Tutorial Session.

Devesh Maheshwari

Devesh Maheshwari has more than 8 years of experience in Software testing. He is currently working as a Web/QA Lead at Tabcorp Pvt Ltd. (Sydney) also as Guest Lecturer at University of Technology, Sydney and Co-organiser of Sydney Testers meet-up.

He has worked on both consultancy and product development projects in companies such as NBN, ThoughtWorks Technologies, Pitney Bowes and IBM across Australia and India. While working with these organisations he followed various software development practices including Agile (Scrum, XP, Kanban) and Waterfall. He has good experience in Agile methodologies and an advocator of testing early in the software lifecycle. He is a Certified Scrum Master(CSM) and has working knowledge of Distributed Agile methodology.

Devesh has extensive experience in software automation testing using open source tools such as Protractor, Cucumber, Spinach, Selenium, Fitnesse and Fitnium. He has also worked on nonfunctional testing doing Performance and Security testing of the software developed. Also worked on diverse domains such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Banking, Risk Management, Telecom and Wagering.

He loves to contribute towards testing community through blogs, articles in testing magazines and sharing his views at conferences & industry speaking engagements and also been a key organiser of various testing events.

Dr. Asif Q. Gill

Dr. Asif Q. Gill is a result-oriented experienced agile author, coach, consultant, educator, researcher, speaker, trainer and thought leader. He has also completed professional trainings and certifications in TOGAF 9.1, ITIL v3 Foundation, Lean Six Sigma, Project Management and Applied Business Architecture. He has extensive experience in both agile and non-agile software development environments, displaying a deep appreciation of their different perspectives in a number of IT-enabled business process improvement and transformation industry projects of varying sizes. He has authored 3 books and 50+ articles.

Ingo Weber

Dr Ingo Weber is a Senior Researcher in the Software Systems research group at NICTA in Sydney (ATP), as well as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the School of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), University of New South Wales (UNSW). He has published over 60 refereed papers and two books. Prior to NICTA, Ingo worked for CSE at UNSW, and at SAP Research in Karlsruhe, Germany. While at SAP, he completed his PhD thesis at the IPE department of the Research Center for Information Technologies (FZI) and the Institute of Applied Informatics and Formal Description Methods of the Economics department, University of Karlsruhe (TH).

Dipesh Pala

Dipesh Pala is the Asia Pacific Agile Capability Leader for IBM. In addition to leading IBM’s transformation journey to grow the Agile capability across this region, Dipesh pursues his passion for enabling organisations of all sizes to optimise solution delivery through the pragmatic use of Agile, Lean and traditional methods. His diverse background includes delivery roles in Software Engineering, Project and Portfolio Governance, and Agile Consulting across a variety of industries.

Over the last decade, Dipesh has helped organisations and project teams across many countries to continuously improve and find better ways of working. As an on-the-ground Agile Consultant, he has been instrumental in rolling out Agile at scale in many organisations, and is currently coaching and mentoring today’s Managers and Executives to become the Agile Leaders their teams need.

A keen advocate of simplicity, Dipesh offers simple, practical yet powerful ways to address the challenges team members and managers in Agile environments face today. He continuously pushes individuals and teams beyond the practices and principles to take a step further into their Agile journey.
